International Day of Persons with Disabilities

President Barack Obama today issued a proclamation recognizing December 3 as "International Day of Persons with Disabilities." 

The proclamation begins by saying: On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we recommit to ensuring people living with disabilities enjoy full equality and unhindered participation in all facets of our national life. We recognize the myriad contributions that persons with disabilities make at home and abroad, and we remember that disability rights are universal rights to be recognized and promoted around the world.

International FASD Awareness Day Tributes

The Arc of Riverside issued tributes today to its "Nine Zero Heroes" who have helped focus national attention on the #1 preventable cause of developmental and intellectual disabilities -- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).
