News Summary for December 14, 2015
Articles Compiled by Anne M. Kincaid
Commentary by Nora J. Baladerian, Ph.D.

Articles are listed in alphabetical order by state, so you can easily scan through the articles for those within your state or other states in which you have an interest.

The skew in crimes against people with disabilities this week is definitely toward not only physical assault, but murder.  Yes, murder, either directly committed or the result of severe neglect.  This analysis includes murder committed by family members.  Just awful.  I have included one article, also, on the tragedy that occurred at the offices of Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.  Although most of those killed (14 in total, 22 injured) were L.A. County Department of Public Health staff who were attending a holiday party, everyone on site were deeply affected.  We know that recovery will take time, and these events are likely to reverberate in many ways. Right now, one of the ways is service delivery.  For those on this list who have been so affected, please receive the healing and loving thoughts sent to you from this project.

Here is the analysis of this week’s newsfeed, again with thanks to Anne Kincaid for collecting these articles:
